ACME 2009 Conference Summary Report

30 July 2009

In March 2009, ACME held a conference at the Royal Society on The Future of Mathematics in Schools and Colleges - A policy perspective.

Delegates shared their thinking on mathematics education policy over the next five years, against the background of the Williams and Rose Reviews, commissioned by the Government on early years and primary maths education and the primary curriculum, and the development of new 14-19 diplomas. Discussion focused on the key current and future issues surrounding primary mathematics, level 3 mathematics and GCSE mathematics.

The conference summary report has now been published and includes a foreword by the Chair of ACME, Professor Dame Julia Higgins FRS.
