National Curriculum Review - Draft Primary Programme of Study
11 June 2012
The Department for Education has just released
the draft National Curriculum for primary
mathematics. The Department for Education has asked
ACME to lead on gathering views from the mathematics and
wider education community. In the next months, ACME, jointly
with the NCETM, will use a variety of means and processes to
facilitate discussion with and within the community.
A consultation questionnaire on the draft National
Curriculum will be available very soon. We would encourage you
to respond to this questionnaire and to disseminate it widely to
your colleagues.
- A dedicated NCETM discussion
forum for teachers and others will be available to discuss the
proposed National Curriculum. To participate, you will
need to register to the
NCETM portal and join the discussion
forum to participate.
- eSeminars will be held in the evening of the 27 and 28 June
2012. More details will follow soon. Please consult the ACME and NCETM website for
updates.
- A workshop will be held on 3rd July to discuss some aspects of
the proposed National Curriculum.
- During the consultation, ACME, along with the NCETM, will work
on providing consolidated feedback to the Department for Education
based on thoughts gathered through this process.
This process will inform any changes to the content in readiness
for the full public consultation towards the end of this year.
Please do pass this message on to others who may be interested
in participating in this process and consult the ACME website
(acme-uk.org) or the NCETM website (ncetm.org.uk) for further
updates and information.
