Draft Key Stage 2 and Key stage 1 Mathematics Test Frameworks published
01 April 2014
The Standards and Testing Agency has published the draft
Frameworks for Key Stage 1 and
Key Stage 2 national tests in mathematics.
The test framework is based on the national curriculum
programme of study (2014) for mathematics, introduced for teaching
in schools from September 2014 and first assessed in summer 2016.
The framework specifies the purpose, format, content and cognitive
demand of the key stage 2 mathematics tests. This document has been
produced as a guide to the test development process, not to guide
teaching. However, it does provide a useful insight into the way
the tests are being developed, and in particular the expected
standards for children in year 2 and year 6. ACME will be examining
the guidance with interest.
The sample test materials will be released for schools in summer
2015.
